Review-Marigold Market Boots

DSCN7365[1]       A few weeks ago we got a new Hobby Lobby! We went to the grand opening, and I got some doll boots. They were five dollars, and I think they are worth what we paid for them. DSCN7366[1]Here is Abby modeling the boots again. They fit well, and she can stand well in them. (Abby doesn’t stand well.) DSCN7368[1]   And here are the boots off the doll. DSCN7369[1]They have fake fur on them, and a ribbon with pompoms on the ends. DSCN7373[1]     In this picture you can see how the ribbon is attached. They also have a working zipper on the side, but it is more for show than getting the boots on and off. DSCN7374[1]  You can tie the ribbons, or loop them around an extra time. DSCN7375[1]      The bottom of the shoe is a lot like a real snow boot would be.

Over all I love these boots. They are designed as snow boots, but they could work as fashion boots too, for summer or spring. On a scale of one to five I give them a six!

How To Do A Snowflake Hairstyle

Today I am going to show you how to do this cool snowflake hairstyle. Although it might look complex, it is actually very simple. This is a good winter hairstyle, and would be a great hairstyle to wear with your Christmas dress. After you do it on your doll, try it on you!DSCN6500[1]

Pick a doll with easy to handle hair, or it won’t work great. Joy is looking a little sad, maybe we can cheer her up.DSCN6501[1]

Start by brushing all the hair and gathering it up like a ponytail. DSCN6503[1]

Separate some hair to be the outside layer and ponytail the rest. DSCN6504[1]

For the first point separate some hair. DSCN6505[1]

Brush it and put it in a ponytail. DSCN6506[1]

Do this with the rest of the outer hair. Make as many ponytails as you want points. DSCN6507[1]

Now tie some yarn around a ponytail. DSCN6508[1]

Separate the ponytail into three sections, and put the yarn into two of them. Braid. DSCN6510[1]

Braid the rest of them, and gather into a ponytail. Here’s my first try. DSCN6511[1]

And another picture. DSCN6512[1]

I decided to try again. To make it better, this time I tied each braid to the ponytail after it was braided. DSCN6513[1]

What do you think? I think I need to work on my hair styling skills.

Stuck In A Snow Globe

This post is inspired by my real life, it was snowing really hard when I took the pictures.

“Look at the snow!” Hope said “It’s like a snow globe! Can we go outside?”

“It is too big.” Mckenna answered “It is unsafe.”

“In that case its like were stuck in the snow globe.” Hope grumbled. “I hate snow! I don’t ever want to see it again!”

“Come on.” Mckenna said “I have an idea.”

“Why are we putting the sled in this drawer?” Hope asked “I hope we are banishing it.”

Mckenna put the skates and snow paints in the drawer.

“WHAT are you doing?” Hope asked.

“I am putting all the snow stuff in the drawer so we can get them out but we don’t have to look at them.” Mckenna answered.

They went into the bedroom.

“What is that?” Hope asked

“You said that we were stuck in a snow globe.” Mckenna said “I am making a snow globe with the snowman ornaments from Christmas.”

They finished the snow globe.

“I have one more activity.” Mckenna said and then rushed off to get the supplies.

“Paper snowflakes.”

When they had finished the snowflakes they sat and admired them.

“Oh I see what you did.” Hope said “We put the old snow stuff away and made new stuff. It worked too, I am not sick of the snow anymore.”

“I am glad.” Mckenna said “When I came here I was unfamiliar with the snow and hated it. But everyone helped me see snow is good.”

Snow Missadventure. – Photostory

Riley and Abby had heread about Hope and Grace’s snow adventure so they gathered around them hoping that they would take them outside.

“Please take us.” Abby begged.

“Sure.” Grace said “But lets make it short.”

After ten minutes they made it to the top of the hill and discussed what to do.

“We have a sled.” Hope said

“But we also have ice skates.” Riley said “And I would rather ice skate.”

“Me two.” Abby chimed in.

“Well then you two can go down the hill to the river at the bottom of the hill. It is frozen and safe for skating. Be careful though, as it is hard to stay up.”

Riley and Abby went down the hill and started to take of their shoes in the river.

Abby got up and started falling and would have fallen down if Riley hadn’t grabbed her.

Riley had a little more luck. she wasn’t exactly graceful but she wasn’t ready to leave yet. Abby, was though. After almost falling she sat down and waited for Riley.

After the sled would not slide Grace pulled Hope down the hill to see if Riley and Abby were ready to go.

Cold and covered in snow after their activities did not work the girls decided to go in.

Inside though the girls were glad they went outside because they got to get dried.

They loved the hairdryer. However after they were dry they asked why I did not use the doll hairdryer. 🙂

Grace and Hope’s outfits are the same outfits they used before. I made Abby’s outfit though. I made Riley’s Pants and the sweater is build a bear.

A Day In The Snow – Photo Story

It has been really snowy around here and everyone is sick of staying inside. The snow used to be fun to play with but not anymore. DSCN3512[1]Hope and Grace stared out the window.

“I am sick of snow.” Grace said

“I have only been here a few days but already I am sick of it too.” Hope said “It wouldn’t be so bad if we could play in it though.”

Grace turned towered Hope. “You are allowed to play in it.”

“Will you come with me?” Hope asked.

“I am sick of snow, why would I want to play in it.” Grace asked

Hope ignored the question. “Please! I need someone to show me around.”

“Well okay but we can’t stay out there very long as it is getting dark.”

“Oh it is deep!” Hope exclaimed when she stepped in the snow. “It comes to my boots and my hair touches it!”

Grace and Hope crossed the river and stepped back into the snow.

“Welcome to the woods.” Grace said.

Five minutes later they found a big round stump to sit on.

“This view is amazing!” Hope exclaimed.

“You haven’t seen anything yet!” Grace assured her.

“These trees sure are big.” Hope commented. “What are they anyway? Ceder?”

Hope and Grace stood on a big platform looking at the amazing view.

“This is awesome isn’t it?” Grace asked.

“It is.” Hope answered. “It was worth coming up here. I can see the whole yard!”

Grace pointed to the other part of the woods. “We could go though that.”

“No way!” Hope exclaimed “I am ready to be done!”

Grace smiled mischievously “Or we could go the fun way.”

“What’s that?”

At the bottom of the hill Hope and Grace cleared a spot in the frozen river and went ice skating.

“Do you want to build a snowman?” Hope asked

Grace laughed “We don’t have gloves. Lets just go in. We can build a snowman another time.”

Inside Grace and Hope laughed at how covered in snow they were.

You are not really supposed to put your doll in snow but I did and got snow in both of their eyes. Fortunately I did not get their bodys wet. I got the water out with a hairdryer. I don’t really think they minded anyway. The hairdryer was warm even though it was the coldest it could be. If you get water in your dolls eyes make sure to get it out before it can rust.

Here they are wrapped up in a blanket by the fireplace after their adventure.

I got the soft as snow outfit last year and I love it. The snow is not nearly as soft as this outfit and I love the color. The other outfit is Kaitlin’s meet outfit. They are both good for snow adventures.
