My family always has ropes up in our backyard. We string them up different ways and walk across them. Ours our sort of in the woods, so I did it for jungle week. You will need thin rope or strong string. I strung it from one tree to another, tying in the middle. Make sure to tie it really tight. You can add a top rope if you want. Now put a doll on and maybe a harness. I am using a string tied around Abby’s waist and a clip, more to keep her up then for her. Apparently Abby decided to go zip lining.
You can do this as many ways as you want. I just used the two strings so I did a tight rope, but we have done it more ways than I can count.
This week’s theme is jungle. Your dolls might need some accessories, so here are a couple simple crafts. Lea displaying a walking stick, flashlight, waterbottle, compass, backpack, and energy bar.
Trace around a bottle cap on scrapbook paper. Cut out the paper and write on it to make it look like a compass. Glue a ribbon to the top if you want.
Fold a piece of cardboard. Wrap scrapbook paper around it, write a label on, and cover it with packing tape so it is shiny.
WATER BOTTLE AND FLASHLIGHT Glue three wooden beads together, a plastic bead on top of the flashlight. Cover with foil or silver paper. Glue a bead to the top of the water bottle, and wrap scrapbook paper around the flashlight.
Cut a piece of bamboo and cover it with strips of ribbon. Glue a ribbon to the end of the stick.
BACKPACK Glue a felt flap to the back of a jeans pocket. Use velcro to keep it shut. Glue ribbon to the bag and decorate with glitter glue.
Now you have everything you need for a hike!
