Good Bye

A couple weeks ago I decided to send some dolls to a charity that uses dolls called Broken Dolls Healing Hearts. I sent all of the dolls that I had rescued from thrift stores (That I could find) except for Mia. There were six, and I took a photo shoot of them before they left.

lily-anna

This is Lily  Anna. I found her at a thrift store spring of 2015. Here is how I restored her and two other dolls. She also stared in Lily Anna’s Troubles

abbigail

This is Abbi. I found her at a thrift store right before Christmas 2015. I probably wouldn’t have bought her because I already had a Springfield Abby, but she was .29, so I went for it. I gave her to my cousin for Christmas, and she later traded her out for a different doll.

This is BridgetI found her spring 2016. She was actually an Our Generation Belle, but I changed her up some.

passion

This is an Our Generation Ashley Rose, but I renamed her Passion. I found her summer 2016.

belle

This is an Our Generation Audrey Ann found in fall 2016. She was in terrible shape, with no hair or anything, but I redid her eyes, her face paint, and gave her hair. Her name changed to Isabel.

And this is Katie Lee, a BFC ink Katelyn I found in winter 2016. She had more hair, but I cut some of it off.

I miss having a zillion dolls, but I’m glad they are going somewhere people need them more than I do.

The Whole Adventure Into The Unknown

Well here is the Adventure into the unknown. I never finished it, and although I have pictures for the next part, I don’t have Isabella anymore, so this is all that there is.

This series is about my newest rescue doll, Isabella. I am going to have to sell her on Ebay, and she overheard. She likes where she is and doesn’t want to go. So she runs away, hoping that she will be missed, and loved enough to stay.

Last night, I heard Lexie talking to someone. She said that I am going to be sold on Ebay, and I was almost ready. But no doll wants to be sold. So I made a plan to go into the woods, and stay until I can sort things out, or until they decide they love me enough to let me stay.

DSCN5944[1]

Around four O clock I woke up. I was tired, but not enough to postpone my plans.

DSCN5945[1]

I sat up and gave my doll a squeeze. I was ready to go. Except I needed supplies. I rolled down onto the bed under me.

DSCN5948[1]

I opened the night drawer, and pulled out a sleeping bag.

DSCN5949[1]

Then I went to the wardrobe to decide what to pack. I shoved some extra shoes, another dress, and some heavy socks into my suitcase.

DSCN5951[1]

Sadly I pulled on a jacket. It was Rachel’s favorite jacket, and she would miss it, but it was the only jacket I could get to without disturbing anyone, and I needed something.

Packing all my stuff, I got ready to leave. But wait

DSCN5947[1]

I can’t leave without Holly! I knew that it might be a bad idea, especially if I had to leave her behind. But I didn’t care.

DSCN5953[1]

I came across a bridge. I knew it was the way to the woods, so I took a step, and then another one, and soon I was in the unknown.DSCN7078[1]     As soon I woke up I could see that it had snown a little. I had slept the day away, but now it was time to find food and water.DSCN7081[1]         I laid everything on my sleeping bag except my suitcase, and went to find some clean snow to turn into water.DSCN7083[1]         I settled on a hill with clean snow.DSCN7088[1]         I filled my suitcase with snow. DSCN7089[1]         Then I went on my way. DSCN7098[1]         When I returned my stuff was gone. I knew it was my fault, (I shouldn’t have left it there) but I still was sad for Holly, and couldn’t help crying myself to sleep.DSCN7099[1]DSCN7100[1]          I sat up. Without my sleeping bag, it wasn’t warm enough here.DSCN7101[1]         So I grabbed my suitcase and got ready to go. DSCN7102[1]         I found a river, and I sunbathed on the rocks. DSCN7104[1]   Then I stuck my feet into the icy water, only because I knew it would make them clean.DSCN7109[1]        Now it was time to look for food. Looking around I saw something that looked like grass. It was grass, but I was THAT hungry. DSCN7110[1]       As I reached for some I slipped and fell over.  DSCN7111[1]Owwww That hurt. But maybe it was a good thing I realized as I looked up. DSCN7112[1]        I looked up and up. DSCN7113[1]         In the tree I was looking at there was a tap. I knew that sap flowed into a bucket to be made into syrup, but this bucket was nowhere to be found. This WAS a good thing.

Spring Doll Clothes

DSCN7638[1]DSCN7637[1]DSCN7633[1]          First day of spring! It’s time to change out your winter clothes for spring ones. But what if you got your first doll in winter, and it doesn’t have any spring clothes? It’s time to make her some!

DSCN7627[1]   You will need:

Random stretchy fabric (Stretchy fabric doesn’t need to be hemmed.)

A big circle for tracing around.

Scissors

Markers

DSCN7629[1]   For a dress or shirt trace around a big circle. DSCN7630[1]   Like so.DSCN7631[1]    Fold it quarters and cut a neck hole and arm holes. DSCN7632[1]   Making the holes bigger if needed, try it on your doll. Use ribbon or string for a sash. And that’s it! To make it a shirt, make it less long, and for a skirt cut a waist hole. DSCN7633[1]    Here Eileen is modeling the dress.  DSCN7637[1]    Isabella is wearing the skirt and a shirt. DSCN7638[1]   And Lily Anna is wearing a pant leg cut off to make a skirt, and a sock with holes cut in it.

Now you can make your dolls some easy spring outfits!

Adventure Into The Unknown

I was going to do Joy’s journal, but my room is too messy. I am organizing the craft stuff (And It is all over my room, making it hard to even get up and dressed) but it should be here next week. Instead you get a long awaited adventure into the unknown starting NOW!DSCN7078[1]     As soon I woke up I could see that it had snown a little. Costume Accessories

It’s the day before Halloween. Everyone is excited, finishing up their costumes, but maybe you need a last minute costume. Here are a few ideas to turn a normal outfit into a costume.

DSCN6217[1]DSCN6212[1]DSCN6213[1]

DSCN6201[1]

So let’s start with the butterfly. Isabella is wearing a dress that I made for Mckenna as a first day of school outfit, but It’s only really been used as a butterfly dress. Right now Isabella is Isabella. She needs wings and antenna to be a butterfly.

DSCN6202[1]

For antenna you can just twist pipe cleaners together.

DSCN6203[1]

To make wings, start be gluing paper to thin cardboard. It doesn’t need to be perfect, it just needs to cover up the cardboard.

DSCN6204[1]

Fold in quarters and cut out a wing shape. Unfold and you have wings. I covered my wings in lace, and glued ribbon on to hold the wings on.

DSCN6213[1]

Now Isabella is a butterfly.

DSCN6205[1]

Cat (Or lion, Or Dog, Or tiger, Or anything else that has ears, whiskers, and a tail)

Abby is wearing a dress that I got at a thrift store as a baby dress. It works perfectly as a cat dress though.

DSCN6206[1]

For ears fold a piece of paper in half, and cut the shape you want out.

DSCN6207[1]

Open it, glue it around a hairband, and fold the shape shut.

DSCN6208[1]

Now we have ears. For whiskers, cut a triangle out of paper, glue strings to it, and then glue a hairband on it, and slip it around your dolls head.

DSCN6211[1]

Whiskers Abby has.

DSCN6209[1]

For your tail, fold a the end of a giant pipe cleaner around a hair band.

DSCN6212[1]

Now Abby is a cat.

For the witch broom:

DSCN6214[1]

Start by cutting a pile of straw, or whatever else you want to use as bristles. Cut the bendy part off of a straw.

DSCN6215[1]

Start gluing bristles in the straw. You could stop here, or you can glue more bristles around the edge of the straw. Ether way, you can glue a piece of ribbon or string around the top, like it’s holding everything together.

DSCN6217[1]

I glued ribbon around my broom several times, to help hold the bristles on. You are done.

Now you can easily make a last minute costume,
