Review My Twin Blooming Flower Doll And Girl Dress

For Easter I got the My Twin Blooming Flower Dress and girl dress plus some shoes. I am going to review those things in this post. I put the dress on to model it, and it was a lot of fun, even though I am going to have to take it off here in a minute. I decided not to wear it for Easter, but it is a nice dress, and I am going to wear it a lot. DSCN7993[1] Here is Lea in the whole outfit. She is also wearing a pink pearl bracelet and pink hair clip.  The dress is made of white satiny cloth, with a pink sash made of the same material. DSCN7994[1]       The front has embroidered hearts and stems, like a garden. The skirt is nicely gathered, there is a lot of cloth. DSCN7995[1]   The sleeves are puffy, with a band. DSCN7998[1]   The sash doesn’t go all the way to the back, but a bow of the same cloth is sewn onto the back. DSCN7999[1]   The dress opens all the way to the skirt, but it was extremely hard to get on. It took me awhile. Girls the age the products are directed at would not be able to get the dress on without help. DSCN8004[1]     The dress has a slip, and mesh on top of that. It is sewn in place but to have it as a slip might be nice.DSCN8006[1]   Lea can sit well in the dress.DSCN8000[1]    The shoes are pink leather like material with a pink ribbon bow on each shoe. They are slip on shoes, very easy to get on, but they stay on. DSCN8002[1]   The sole is white, with a bit of heal. DSCN8007[1]  Here is me in my dress and lea in hers. Nether the dress nor sash is the same cloth or color. The girls dress isn’t shiny, but it will hold up better. DSCN8008[1]    The heart garden is the same, still embroidered. DSCN8010[1]     In the girls dress the sash goes all the way around and ties.

All of the things were less than 20$ all together, a great deal for the quality of the items. They are well made, and I am glad I got them.

Review My Twin Cook Set And Comparison

For Easter my parents gave me the My Twin cook set, which they got on sale when My Twin went out of business. I also have a kitchen set from the dollar store which I am going to compare it with. First the Dollar store set. DSCN7947[1]  Here is the whole set. It is fully made of plastic. DSCN7948[1]    The pan is red on the outside, and black on the inside. DSCN7949[1]    The utensils include a spaghetti strainer, a spaghetti spoon, and a spatula. The handles are molded red plastic.

Now for the My twin set. DSCN7950[1]     The set comes in this box.DSCN7951[1]  This is the entire set. Two pots, a pan, and some utensils. A funny story about the utensils, The pots and pans were in the box with Styrofoam in between them, and I didn’t see the utensils. It wasn’t until I was looking at my catalog that I saw the there should have been utensils. I looked, and there they were!DSCN7952[1]   This pan has blue enamel on the outside, and white on the inside with a metal rim. The handle is wood. DSCN7953[1]   The pots have handles on either side, and on the lid. The lid is blue enamel with a metal rim, and a handle on the top. The lids just sit on the pots, but they fit well.DSCN7954[1]      There are three utensils, each has a folded piece of wire glued on to the end as a handle.

And here is the comparison.DSCN7955[1]  The dollar store pan is deeper, but the My Twin one is well made. They both are the right size. DSCN7956[1]     On this one I would say that the dollar store one is better. It looks more realistic, and would actually be able to strain spaghetti. (If it was doll sized.) DSCN7957[1]  The spatula parts look the same, but the handle is different. The angle of the handle is different on each. DSCN7958[1]   And then we have a ladle, and a spaghetti spoon, both good things for making spaghetti. DSCN7959[1]  With both set together you would be able to make spaghetti, sauce, meatballs, and garlic bread.

Both sets are nice, even better together. They are a great addition to my doll kitchen, especially if they want to make spaghetti.

Spring Photo Shoot

For Easter I dressed up all my dolls in nice, springy outfits and took them outside for a photo shoot. I did a group picture, but also single pictures of each doll. I am going to use these as profile pictures because the place where I used to take profile pictures no longer exists.

Group picture!

This was really fun to take. I had to arrange all fifteen dolls. (Count them!) Most of the dolls are positioned well. A couple of them I don’t like so much, such as Gabi, Jenny, and Faith. Overall though, I really like this picture.

I am going to try to use it as a header image. I don’t know how well that will work…

Mckenna is not colorblind

I really like this picture. Mckenna’s hair is frizzy, and I didn’t have a good pair of shoes for this outfit that no one else was wearing, but whatever. Who needs shoes?

Mckenna is wearing:

A dress that I sewed and tie dyed,

The shrug from the fall outfit I bought at our local festival,

The matching hair bow with aquamarine lace wrapped around it.

I like this one too. The outfit looks good on Abby, but come to think of it, she would never wear something that frilly.

Abby is wearing:

American Girl Grace’s opening night dress

Headband from American Girl Grace’s opening night outfit.

I like how the tall grass and flowers cast shadows on Riley.

Riley is wearing:

Shirt from the American Girl spring breeze outfit,

Tunic from the American Girl spring breeze outfit,

Leggings from the American Girl warm winter outfit,

Shoes from the American Girl spring breeze outfit,

Random butterfly hair clip.

Katelyn isn’t looking at the camera. Argh! And her hair is messy.

Katelyn is wearing:

My Life As dress,

Headband from a Madame Alexander outfit. (I looked, but I got it years ago, and I have no idea what the outfit is called)

Oh, I love this picture of Grace. Even though the shoes never made it on her.

Grace is wearing:

Skirt that I made out of lace and fabric I dyed,

Tank top from American Girl Gabriela McBride’s meet outfit,

American Girl Isabelle’s purple Wrap sweater.

Hope and Pride

Argh! This one’s kind of blurry.

Hope is wearing:

Cheerleader dress from my local festival,

Pom pom from the cheerleader outfit (In her hair)

Headband from Our Generation Joy’s meet outfit,

Boots that I made.

Joy looks so adorable in that dress.

Joy is wearing:

A dress that I made,

Our Generation Joy’s meet shoes.

Maria moose

Maria isn’t looking at the camera, but I like this one.

Maria is wearing:

A baby dress I adjusted to fit my dolls,

The headband from the American Girl love to layer accessories,

The shoes that Journey Girl Callie was wearing when we found her.

Faith under the branches

Not one of my favorites, but it’s okay.

Faith is wearing:

A baby dress I adjusted to fit 18 inch dolls,

Our Generation Parker’s meet shoes.

I absolutely love this one. It fit’s Eileen’s personalty so well.

Eileen is wearing:

The American Girl petals and posies dress that Mia was wearing when I found her,

A pearl bracelet from Our Generation,

Random blue ribbon,

And she’s holding a dandelion.

I don’t really like this picture, but it fits Lea’s personality.

Lea is wearing:

American Girl Merry Magenta dress,

American Girl Merry Magenta headband.

I really like the outfit that Mia is wearing.

Mia is wearing:

A dress that I made,

A sash that my cousin crocheted,

The Journey Girls shrug Callie was wearing when we found her,

American Girl Lea’s meet shoes,

Our Generation Parker’s meet headband,

An ice skate charm on a piece of ribbon.

I like this picture. If only Gabi was sitting up more.

Gabi is wearing:

Our Generation Doll shirt, (Someone gave it to me, and I never identified it)

American Girl headband from Grace’s baking outfit,

American Girl Gabriela McBride’s meet leggings,

American Girl boots from Soft As Snow outfit.

Callie is so fun to pose! This picture was fun to take.

Callie is wearing:

A dress I made,

Headband from American Girl Spring Breeze outfit,

Shoes from Our Generation tworiffic twin set.

Argh! Jenny’s hair is so frizzy.

Jenny is wearing:

My Twin Blooming Flower dress,

My Twin shoes,

Random hair clip.

So there you have it. This year’s Easter photo shoot. I hope you enjoyed.

A Very Sad Assumption

My Twin is having a closeout sale. 90% off the most of the  store!  They won’t be making any money, just trying to get rid of things. I’m not ready for my twin to end! If you want  my twin stuff get it now while it’s deeply discounted!

Welcome To The Indian House!

For school I had to do a project on Indians. I decided to make my dolls an Indian house, so here it is. I put a lot of work into this.dscn36811                          I make the house out of cardboard and covered it with twine stuff. On this side there is a door cut out. dscn36821                        The beds are stacked, and on the top there is blankets. The bottom layer they use for benches and tables during the day.dscn36831                            Here’s my collection of food. dscn36851                         And Mia’s outfit.

There are a few more things I forgot to add, but mainly it’s finished.

Eileen And Maryellen Comparison

My friend has Maryellen, and a couple weeks ago I brought Eileen to her house for a comparison. Here’s what’s different and here’s what’s the same.DSCN6604[1]Here are the girls standing next to each other.DSCN6605[1]Now here is their hair. Eileen’s is more of a strawberry blond, and Maryellen’s is more of a light red. Also Maryellen has bangs and Eileen does not. DSCN6607[1]Here are their faces. They have the same face mold, but Maryellen has hazel eyes, and Eileen has blue. DSCN6609[1]It could just be that Maryellen is brand new, and Eileen is not, but it looks like their skin is a bit different. DSCN6611[1]The torsos are also a bit different. DSCN6612[1]And one last picture.

Maybe these girls aren’t twins, but they are defiantly sisters. They look like twins, compared to how much me and MY sisters looks alike!

American girl store Columbus

My Mom and I were in Columbus so we stopped at the american girl store. We didn’t have much time and I didn’t really get to see everything but it was fun. I also took a lot of pictures.

The school desk set and backpack set.

The desks and locker. This was one of the displays you could really play with.

The snack cart. I think that this is really cool. They have drawers and food and a sink. Lots of fun.

The new gardening set. This set has a lot of different pieces and even has places for most of them.

The hammock turned out to be plastic. It was very nice but expensive.

The bed has a trundle and shelf. It is really cute.

There is a new bathrobe but the salon set is the same. IT is a lot of fun.The dolls looks so relaxed in their chairs.

The doll display.

The other doll display.

And the girl sized dress. It has pockets and a belt that I think is removable.

The table was in glass, I was surprised that they didn’t put the breakfast on the table.

The bitty baby display had the cradle and changing table. They both look very nice but scaled wrong.

I like the music sets. It is cool that the dolls are dressed for a recital or something.

The art studio is a book that includes a lot of cool art stuff but I would think that they could at least make the paint tubes plastic instead of card stock.

All of the bitty twin dolls. I think that you can buy two girls or two boys but they showed them in girl, boy, pairs.

The bitty twins had a wagon.

And a trundle bed like the dreamy daybed.

Inside of the bistro is nice but it looks sort of weird with the bar like thing.

Behind glass were the bath sets.

And here are the horses.

Here are all the american girl bags and such. I like how there is a two doll bag and then a two mini doll bag for the dolls.

This is all the dolls in different styles.

And Grace getting her hair brushed. My Grace has paint coming off on her lip so we went to ask about that. They said that it was probably from dropping the doll and the only thing that I could do would to send her to the doll hospital. One of the hair stylists offered to brush Grace’s hair so while she did that we talked. She said that in June Grace’s movie would come out but her third book was already out. She was using a big wire brush on Grace’s hair instead of the American girl one. She took out a double sided brush like a tooth brush after the brush. Then she took a tooth brush, sprayed it with the water she was using, and swept it over Grace’s bangs. She also re braided Grace’s braid, which was good because I have never taken it out. She also put a ribbon in her hair.

Grace at home. Now Grace’s hair looks nicer. I am glad that the stylist did Grace’s hair and it was all for free!

After getting her hair done Grace decided to take a ride in Julie’s car.

Then she went to her bakery to have breakfast.

Cooking up something.

And waiting at the pickup window.

I was wearing a pink skirt that I had bought and put a black bow on to look like Grace’s. Here I am holding my size of the skirt next to me and Grace on the other side. The american girl version is the same color but my size of the skirt I have is much longer, which my Mom likes.

Grace with her welcome stuff.

And in her baking outfit with her baking set.

Grace’s coat and suitcase.

The grace picture thing looks a lot like the bistro set for Grace. There is a menu and Eiffel tower centerpiece. Grace is very short and the chairs are nailed to the ground.

Grace in the egg chair.

And Samantha’s gazebo.

It was a fun visit and I was very glad I went.
