New Springfield Dolls Updated

I have new information and pictures, so here they are. ChristianHomeschooler  from TreasuredFriendshipsWithAflair took some pictures, and kindly granted me permission to use them. You can see them here.

The new dolls are officially in stock at the stores, except Michaels has switched to another brand for the holidays, so you can’t find them there. You can get them at Hobby Lobby, and probably Joanns, however on the websites, they are still the old dolls.

Springfield1

Here are all the dolls That Hobby lobby had. They got a new box, but it looks to be the same, flimsy, style.

Springfield2

Here is Abby. I like the picture on the front of the box, but they don’t sell the clothes with the dolls, so they shouldn’t have done that.

Springfield3

Then we have Emma. There is a price tag that says 24.99, I think.

Springfield4

Here we have Olivia. I like how she looks more realistic, and I love the red hair and teal.

Springfield5

Last we have Madison. She changed the most, but she is still cute.

Thank you Christianhomeschooler for lending me the pictures!

I was looking at the Springfield website’s dolls. All of them looked weird except Maria. I clicked on the pages to the the pictures and this is what I found out.

Abby is OUT OF STOCK

Madison is OUT OF STOCK

Olivia is OUT OF STOCK

Emma is OUT OF STOCK

Maria is not, but this is why.

The pictures of the dolls are different. All but Maria have different face molds, and all the dolls that had bangs won’t anymore. The new pictures say arriving December 1. I think that they discontinued the dolls, and are making new dolls to be released December 1.

Here are the new ones and the old ones.

It looks like the new Abby has lighter skin, darker lips, and a slightly different shade of hair. It doesn’t look like a big smile anymore, and the eyebrows are visible, and too dark. No bangs ether.

Madison - 18 inch African-American Doll

The old Madison has darker skin, the new one’s looks like Maria’s. The new Madison’s eyes are darker, and the hair looks different. The lips are darker, like I think they should have been on old Madison.  Emma - 18 inch Doll

Emma looks like she is wearing mascara. The lips are more realistic, and the eyebrows are too dark.

Olivia - 18 inch Doll

The new Olivia has a different shade of skin, and doesn’t look like she is wearing blush, and lipstick. Her hair looks redder, and her eyes darker. The dress looks different, but it might be the picture.

Maria - 18 inch Latina doll

The only thing I can tell about Maria is her hair won’t be layered.

In some ways the change will be better, in some ways worse. If you want an old doll, get it now, before they go away. I don’t know how long the stores will have the old dolls, or even if they will get new dolls at all. I am not planing on getting any new dolls, but I hope the hair quality goes way up. (Abby’s hair is a frizzy mess, and Maria’s is on it’s way.)

What do you think of the changes? I don’t know if everything is true, most is just guesses. Lexie

Spring Photo Shoot

For Easter I dressed up all my dolls in nice, springy outfits and took them outside for a photo shoot. I did a group picture, but also single pictures of each doll. I am going to use these as profile pictures because the place where I used to take profile pictures no longer exists.

Alishdollish

Group picture!

This was really fun to take. I had to arrange all fifteen dolls. (Count them!) Most of the dolls are positioned well. A couple of them I don’t like so much, such as Gabi, Jenny, and Faith. Overall though, I really like this picture.

I am going to try to use it as a header image. I don’t know how well that will work…

Mckenna is not colorblind

I really like this picture. Mckenna’s hair is frizzy, and I didn’t have a good pair of shoes for this outfit that no one else was wearing, but whatever. Who needs shoes?

Mckenna is wearing:

A dress that I sewed and tie dyed,

The shrug from the fall outfit I bought at our local festival,

The matching hair bow with aquamarine lace wrapped around it.

Abbygail

I like this one too. The outfit looks good on Abby, but come to think of it, she would never wear something that frilly.

Abby is wearing:

American Girl Grace’s opening night dress

Headband from American Girl Grace’s opening night outfit.

Rileygail

I like how the tall grass and flowers cast shadows on Riley.

Riley is wearing:

Shirt from the American Girl spring breeze outfit,

Tunic from the American Girl spring breeze outfit,

Leggings from the American Girl warm winter outfit,

Shoes from the American Girl spring breeze outfit,

Random butterfly hair clip.

Kateskate

Katelyn isn’t looking at the camera. Argh! And her hair is messy.

Katelyn is wearing:

My Life As dress,

Headband from a Madame Alexander outfit. (I looked, but I got it years ago, and I have no idea what the outfit is called)

Gracietree

Oh, I love this picture of Grace. Even though the shoes never made it on her.

Grace is wearing:

Skirt that I made out of lace and fabric I dyed,

Tank top from American Girl Gabriela McBride’s meet outfit,

American Girl Isabelle’s purple Wrap sweater.

Hope and Pride

Argh! This one’s kind of blurry.

Hope is wearing:

Cheerleader dress from my local festival,

Pom pom from the cheerleader outfit (In her hair)

Headband from Our Generation Joy’s meet outfit,

Boots that I made.

Joyfullybushes

Joy looks so adorable in that dress.

Joy is wearing:

A dress that I made,

Our Generation Joy’s meet shoes.

Maria moose

Maria isn’t looking at the camera, but I like this one.

Maria is wearing:

A baby dress I adjusted to fit my dolls,

The headband from the American Girl love to layer accessories,

The shoes that Journey Girl Callie was wearing when we found her.

Faith under the branches

Not one of my favorites, but it’s okay.

Faith is wearing:

A baby dress I adjusted to fit 18 inch dolls,

Our Generation Parker’s meet shoes.

Dandieileen

I absolutely love this one. It fit’s Eileen’s personalty so well.

Eileen is wearing:

The American Girl petals and posies dress that Mia was wearing when I found her,

A pearl bracelet from Our Generation,

Random blue ribbon,

And she’s holding a dandelion.

Lealove

I don’t really like this picture, but it fits Lea’s personality.

Lea is wearing:

American Girl Merry Magenta dress,

American Girl Merry Magenta headband.

Mialyn

I really like the outfit that Mia is wearing.

Mia is wearing:

A dress that I made,

A sash that my cousin crocheted,

The Journey Girls shrug Callie was wearing when we found her,

American Girl Lea’s meet shoes,

Our Generation Parker’s meet headband,

An ice skate charm on a piece of ribbon.

Gabbygail

I like this picture. If only Gabi was sitting up more.

Gabi is wearing:

Our Generation Doll shirt, (Someone gave it to me, and I never identified it)

American Girl headband from Grace’s baking outfit,

American Girl Gabriela McBride’s meet leggings,

American Girl boots from Soft As Snow outfit.

KaoriCallie

Callie is so fun to pose! This picture was fun to take.

Callie is wearing:

A dress I made,

Headband from American Girl Spring Breeze outfit,

Shoes from Our Generation tworiffic twin set.

Jennylyn

Argh! Jenny’s hair is so frizzy.

Jenny is wearing:

My Twin Blooming Flower dress,

My Twin shoes,

Random hair clip.

So there you have it. This year’s Easter photo shoot. I hope you enjoyed.

Mini Lalaloopsy

DSCN5039[1]

Riley and Sandy were playing with their mini Lalaloopsy that Sandy brought. They thought that they were really fun, and wanted me to review them.

DSCN5040[1]

Recently I found a lalaloopsy tin at a garage sale. It was three dollars but I got it for one. The top has Bea spells a lot on it. Like all of the dolls she has button eyes and a stitched on mouth and cheeks but they aren’t rag dolls. The story is they are rag dolls that come to life when they are finished. Apparently though they turn plastic when played with.

DSCN5041[1]

The top has a clasp, and a handle stringed with beads.

DSCN5042[1]

I opened it up to revel a metal tin with 7 dolls in it.

DSCN5044[1]

This is Jewel Sparkles. Like all of the dolls she has dangley feet and can’t stand up. Her arms and head also move. She wears a pink dress, shoes, and a pink tiara around her curls.

DSCN5046[1]

This is a bad picture. Sorry about that.

Crumbs Sugar Cookie wears a pink dress and an apron dress. She has high boots, and a bow in her curls.

DSCN5048[1]

Peanut Big Top has a mismatched outfit, which I like. She is supposed to be from the circus or something. She has striped tights, boots, a skirt, a shirt, sash, and gloves. She also in her hair has a bow.

DSCN5050[1]

I like Mittens fluff and stuff. She looks cozy with a sweater, vest, skirt, tights, bloomers, and boots. I also like the blue hair and bows.

DSCN5052[1]

This one is Bea spells a lot. She is the only one with blue eyes, that I have. She wears a school outfit of shirt, jumper, tights, and boots.

DSCN5054[1]

Spot Splatter Splash is nice. She has a dress and smock. She likes to do art.

DSCN5056[1]

This last one is Pillow feather bed. She can move in different ways then the rest of them.
DSCN5062[1]

The dolls are the right size for 18 inch dolls.

DSCN5063[1]

The case also works for dolls and it fits nicely away for storage.

Welcome To The Dollhouse!

I put together a little doll house for my dolls. I spend a lot of time there and wanted to share it with you. (Warning lots of pics.)

DSCN3243[1]

I made the dollhouse by pushing a table into a corner. My bed is on one side so I tied strings to a gutter atached the wall to add another floor. I made a roof by tying a piece of cloth to the bed and gutter.

DSCN3247[1]

Here is the porch. I bought the bench at goodwill and I made the sled out of Popsicle sticks.

DSCN3248[1]

This is little baby Poppy’s nursery. I bought her at a garage sale with the clothes in the changing table and made the bed out of Popsicle sticks and cardboard.and the changing table out of a box.

DSCN3251[1]

Here Katlin is sitting on a shoe box in front of a window in the the bedroom. The dog bed is a basket and I taped  a popcical stick to the bed and put food and water bowls on it. The cocoanut car is under the bed.

DSCN3252[1]

I put a doll bunk bed in the corner and put the bed part from another bunk bed on top.

DSCN3253[1]

I have a gutter on the wall so I hung a string over the gutter and put the clothes on hangers on the string and the shoes in the gutter.

DSCN3255[1]

I placed a plastic container against my bed for a shower and hung a piece of string with some cloth on up for a shower curtain. I made a toilet out of an ice cream container and some cardboard. I made the towel rack out of Popsicle sticks and wrapped up a tissue for toilet paper. I put some American girl towels on the rack and put travel shampoos and soap in it. The sink is also used by the kitchen.

DSCN3256[1]

I made a doll salon by pouting a dollar store container on a can and shoving it in the corner. I filled it up with hair stuff and put the our generation salon chair behind it.

DSCN3258[1]

The kitchen table is a stool and I made the stool Mckenna is sitting on out of beads and a lid. The chair Riley is sitting on I bought at a garage sale. The buckets at the end of the table are mini buckets filled with mini candy canes and toy fruit. I made the napkin holder out of cardboard and beads and filled it with napkins cut down to size. Riley’s place mat came under a sandwich at Panara bread.

DSCN3259[1]

I made the oven and sink to look like the piece from graces bakery. I made it out of different boxes and covered them with paper. On the top is contact paper and the sink is a bowl.

DSCN3281[1]

I covered a box with paper for flour and the sugar is a bottle of glitter. On the bottom shelf I made the recipe box from a printable. The sifter is a paper covered toilet paper tube with a handle glued on and a tulle bottom. I made the mixer out of a toilet paper tube and duck tape.

DSCN3268[1]

This is the mixer in action. I can take the beaters out for storage or use them as whisks.

DSCN3263[1]
Over here there is a shelf for the microwave  and under it  a counter, cabinet, washer, and drawer. I am storing extra plates in the gap because they do not fit with the rest of the plates.

DSCN3270[1]

In the cabinet I have a bucket for clothes and a shelf for other stuff.

DSCN3267[2]

This is the drawer. I made or found most of the stuff.

DSCN3299[1]

I have an iron and ironing board too. This picture also shows off the hook thingy on the wall. It holds a rubber spatula and hot pad.

DSCN3271[1]

The corner holds the refrigerator and two cabinets.

DSCN3279[1]

In the cabinet I have china plates, plastic communion cups, and veggies.

DSCN3276[1]

The fridge has food in it and the drawer under it is the freezer.

DSCN3274[1]

The cabinet has chocolate chips and glitter bottles that I am using as sprinkles.

DSCN3283[1]

Moving on the the library. The reason I have a library Is because I had some some extra room and I love the library so I thought that my dolls would too. I made the couch and bookshelves both out of a box. I made a bunch of books for the shelf and then put little trinkets in the remaining space.

DSCN3249[1]

I put the library on the doll hose I made. Before I had 18 inch dolls I had 6 inch dolls and I made a doll house for them. I decided to put the dollhouse in this one so my dolls could play with their own dolls. Grace is standing near it to show how tall it is.

DSCN3285[1]

In the living room I have a fireplace, a coffee table, A TV, and some seating. I found the wicker chair at a garage sale and the grandfather clock at good will. I made the coffee table out of a box and some beads and the rug is a carpet sample.

DSCN3289[1] locker

Mckenna looks at her locker. I made the locker our of a box and some beads and stocked it with school supplies.

DSCN3298[1]

Katlin is trying to decide what to do in the school room. I made the desk out of an egg carton and Popsicle sticks and I bought the chair at a garage sale. I made the key board out of a piece of wood, Popsicle sticks, some beads, and ribbon.

DSCN3301[1]

In the theater Abby is watching the mini dolls put on a play. The seats are book holders and the stage is a box.

DSCN3302[1]

And last but not least Mckenna floats above the earth in a hot air balloon hung from the ceiling.

Z Yang Look A Like Shirt

A few days ago I was at Target, and I saw a shirt that looked a lot like the one from Z’s easy breezy outfit. So I looked it up on the internet, and here it is.

Z shirt

Here’s the link to Z’s, and here’s the link to the one at Target.

It’s not exactly the same, but it’s close, and it would be cute to wear with your doll’s.

The End Of Permipanties!

American Girl has decided to do away with the stupid permipanties! Here’s what American Girl said:

**An Important Update for Our Customers**

We love and appreciate our dedicated American Girl fan community, and we take our role in listening and responding to your feedback very seriously. In recent months, many of you have shared your thoughts on how we can continue delivering the great products you’ve come to expect from us. We’ve heard you, and we will be implementing two changes as a result.

First, we will be reverting to the separate underwear design for all of our 18-inch dolls. Starting today, any dolls that are currently in production or any new dolls being developed will now come with removable underwear. Because there are dolls with permanent underwear already in the market, this will be a rolling change—meaning dolls that currently have the permanent underwear design will remain as is until the inventory is sold through.

However, if you currently own an American Girl doll with the permanent underwear and are disappointed with the design, we will do a one-time, free body exchange on the doll to create one with separate underwear and return the doll to you at no cost. For details on this offer, please click here: http://bit.ly/2rKyn0n

Second, we have made the decision to return to our iconic boutique box for our 18-inch dolls. Only the new 2017 contemporary characters, as well as some of our Truly Me dolls, will come in the current packaging until inventory is sold through. In addition, none of our 18-inch doll outfits will be sewn directly into packaging, with the exception of any existing inventory for our 2017 contemporary characters.

Thank you for caring enough to share your candid and heartfelt opinions with us, and we are sorry if we disappointed you in any way. Your feedback helps us deliver on our promise to create high-quality products, services, and experiences that nourish a girl’s spirit and help develop her strength of character.

Your Friends at American Girl

I’m really glad that they decided to do away with permipanties. It sounds like they have finally heard us.  But what about squishy vinyl? Thinner fabric? Neck ties? Cheaper products? Are they not going away also?
Notice that they only got rid of the changes that were most hated. There’s nothing holding them back from making cheap dolls still. My mom says they only care about our opinion because they care about our money.
But it’s a start at least.

Meet Fancy Nancy

DSCN8016[1]    Meet my new doll Ruby! She is a Fancy Nancy doll, 18 inches tall, but she has the body of a littler girl than the rest of my doll. DSCN8017[1]  Here I have her against a tree so she will stand up. DSCN8018[1]    My mom thinks that her face is creepy, but I don’t mind. Look at her eyes! They are not sleep eyes but they are very detailed. They are green with a gold flower in the middle, and of course the black center. They are outlined with a little darker green. DSCN8019[1]    Ruby’s hair is curly red with purple mixed in. It has been cut some, but it is still beautifulDSCN8020[1]         Another view, this time without the shrug. DSCN8021[1]       And here she turned around.

I made this outfit for Ruby to match her hair and eyes. I think it turned out pretty good. Ruby needed a new outfit because she is going a new place. I decided not to keep her, instead to send her to Broken dolls healing hearts. I have enough dolls, and even though I spent my own money and time on her, knowing that she will go to someone who will really love Ruby and play with her makes all the difference.
