I just recently made several items of doll clothing. They were made out of clothes that I had. Some of them had stains. I worked with the seams. I made things out of the details of the clothes. Use what you have, and work with it. I used glue because I hate sewing, but you could also sew them. It took awhile to make all the clothes, but all of them are very simple.
Poncho And Skirt
The skirt I made because the shirt I used had two layers. The poncho I made, because I wanted to do something out of that part of the shirt. I loved the shirt I used, and now I can continue enjoying it.
I forgot to take a picture of the shirt before I started cutting it up. It looked like this, but the top was more detailed.
For the poncho, I cut the sequenced part of the shirt off, with all the extra fabric around it.
I turned it around and added buttons. It works because of the shape of the piece.
For the skirt, I cut one of the ruffles off.
I laid it out, and glued it. I added a button in the back.
And you have an outfit.
I made this to match an shirt I already had.
It was simple, Cut a rectangle with straps.
I made the shirt out of extra yellow cloth.
I cut a piece of cloth, long enough to be a shirt. I cut armholes.
I cut a smaller piece of cloth.
I glued it to the armhole.
I added another sleeve, and buttons.
I made this dress out of one of my favorite shirts, that I outgrew.
I cut a piece of cloth from the shirt. The ruffle was going to be the waistline.
I cut armholes.
I glued up to the waistline, then added buttons from there. A DRESS
These are very easy to make, yet they go with everything.
Cut two pieces of cloth. They should go halfway around the doll and be long enough to be the pant legs.
Fold them in half, back out. Make a little snip where the pants should come up too, parting the legs from the top part. Glue up to the snip.
Turn them inside out and glue the top edges together.
It took awhile but I made several outfits. I made another dress. It looks like a dress that I liked, because I made it from the dress.
